Keep the music alive! Book project.

Some of you might have wondered about the artists behind these LPs – their stories and history as well as recognition and compensation. Obroni Import obviously aims to help the African record dealers increase sales and get fair compensation, instead of mining for wax at almost no cost and making a huge profit in the Western world. But what about the artists?

Our Beninese friends have been working on a book project for some time now. They want to give living Beninese musicians from the 70’s a chance to present themselves on a fair base¬†and make a further contribution to music history than just being briefly featured in a top afro-DJ mix ūüėČ The idea is to write an autobiographical book featuring photographs as well as a CD.

Our friends are looking for funding and have now opened a crowdfunding page! The funding goal is relatively low and they have and will pay for most of the costs themselves. But we can help! We are also talking about possible special record orders to fund this project directly. If you have any ideas or would be interested in cooperating, please drop us a line.
